Firefox IS the Web Browser – I apologize

[Originally posted on 11/22/2005]

Get Firefox!

As a long time Firefox user, and a frequent Asa Dotzler’s blog reader, on November 2, 2005, I left a comment on Asa’s blog, regarding the new update available:

“I had the same problem as previously stated: failed partial patch and the About box saying I had 1.5 beta2, plus the “menu_HelpPopup_reportertoolmenu” bug.

All of this solved by manually downloading and installing with the provided link.

Now it’s working ok. All extensions working (many of them manually patched for this release).

It seems Automatic Update needs more “tweaking” than expected…

Keep with the great work!

I don’t know exactly who, but someone took my phrase out of context, and somehow, many online news:

Yahoo
InternetWeek
MacNewsWorld
LinuxInsider
Another One

and many others, stated it as a negative comment on Firefox, something I would never do. Maybe it has many things to improve, but as I’m not having enough time to cooperate with the development team, I have nothing to do but congratulate the entire team responsible for that piece of great software.

At least, I did state my frustration in this other comment:

“Well, the Automatic Update is working perfect now.

So every news site that published my comment some days ago can change that… It’s really annoying that they publish only my “negative” sentence…

Guys, keep the good work as always!

You have a “first line” fan here!

Mainly: Firefox IS the web browser. Having one installed by default on a OS do not count. If all users could be asked which one they prefer, I’d bet they’d choose Firefox.

What a nice phone

I know this is only a concept but should be the future of mobile phones:

By Tamer Nakisci, about the Nokia 888:

*technologies that are used
It uses liquid battery, speech recognition, flexible touch screen, touch sensitive body cover which lets it understand and adjust to the environment. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that it changes forms in different situations.”

This will be my new home…

Well, this is the first post, so I won’t be long. This site should be for posting geek news, ideas, and many other various subjects. As I’m a member of many communities and forums, I prefer updating things here rather than on many sites at once.

It is mainly for me, but of course, other people are welcome.

Enjoy your visit!

P.S. All posts I’m publishing this weekend are things from my previous blog, blogger, at Blogspot.
